Terms and Conditions
Branch:
What type of payments do you accept in your branch?
Our branches accept credit card or debit card for rental charges paid on vehicle pick-up or drop-off. Cash payments are not accepted.
The bond on the vehicle is only payable by credit card or debit credit card. The bond cannot be paid with a pre-paid credit card.
Do you allow pick up or drop off outside of branch hours?
All guests are required to pick up during the hours specified for your branch location. After hours drop off on request.
What are the branch opening hours?
Visit our Locations page to see days and hours of operation by branch location.
How do I get to the branch?
Our Branches are conveniently located near major airports, making pick-up and drop-off even easier for you. You can arrange transport to and from the airport via taxi or Uber.
Visit out locations page to find the best pick up or return location for your road trip adventure.
Vehicle:
How long will it take to check out my vehicle?
We encourage guests to allow at least 1 hour for vehicle pick-up. One of our Guest Service Officers will take you through the Rental Agreement and show you through your vehicle. During peak times your wait time may be longer than expected.
Can I bring my bike?
We do not have bike racks on our motorhomes. Bikes may be stored inside the motorhome; however, we would appreciate bikes to be stored in bike bags to avoid any damage to the interior of the motorhome.
Does my vehicle come with a gas bottle?
Yes, all vehicles are supplied with a full gas bottle for heating water and cooking. If you purchase the Value Pack, the gas bottle is included, otherwise payment is required at time of or prior to pick-up. You may return the gas bottle empty.
Will my vehicle be automatic or manual transmission?
Apollo vehicles are guaranteed automatic. Cheapa Campa and Hippie Camper vehicles may be automatic or manual transmission.
We are unable to guarantee the transmission type. Please refer to the vehicle description to check whether your preferred vehicle is automatic or manual.
What is supplied with the vehicle?
All vehicles are supplied with a kitchen kit and general equipment for your convenience. This includes cooking equipment and eating utensils, as well as pegs, a clothesline, fire extinguisher, bucket, hose, broom, dustpan and brush. Electrical appliances are supplied in vehicles that have 240V. Personal kits including sheets, blankets/duvets, pillows, pillowcases and bath towels are complimentary.
How long does the battery last?
The battery system will provide power for between 12 - 20 hours when fully charged depending on use.
Our vehicles operate on auxiliary battery systems which power internal appliances such as the, lights, television and water pump.
The batteries only recharge when connected to mains power or will trickle charge when driving the vehicle. We recommend that the vehicle is plugged into Mains power every 2nd night. Idling the engine won't provide enough power to recharge the auxiliary battery.
When you are connected, all equipment automatically runs on mains power rather than the battery. Appliances such as the microwave, rear air-conditioning and power points only run on mains power. Television may run either on 240v (mains power) or 12v (battery power).
For the 12 Volt system to work, the 12 Volt main switch must be in the 'on' position. All vehicles can be connected to 240 Volt mains power via the supplied 15 Amp extension lead with large earth pin. All approved caravan park circuits are rated at 15 amps.
Can I request a specific layout or vehicle length?
Vehicles can be requested by vehicle category; however, we cannot guarantee a vehicle layout, make or model.
What is the weight of the vehicles in New Zealand?
All our vehicles are less than 4.5 tonnes.
On The Road:
Do I have to pay per Kilometre travelled?
While most of our 2WD RVs include unlimited kilometres, we recommend travelling a maximum of 300 kilometres per day or the equivalent of 4-5 hours driving.
Relocation bookings will have a fixed number of kilometres based on the pickup and return location.
Are there any restrictions on where I can drive?
We want you to stay safe on your holiday. All 2WD rental vehicles must stay on sealed roads, the only exception is a well-maintained access road less than 12kms leading to a recognised campground or national park.
For a full list of restricted locations please view the Terms and Conditions.
Who do I contact if I need assistance?
We encourage you to download ApolloConnect as this has a Contact Us section which easily connects you to our Reservations and Roadside Assistance teams.
To ask about availability to extend your holiday or make any other changes you can email info@apollocamper.com.au or call Reservations on 0800 113 131. For Roadside Assistance you can email apolloassist@apollocamper.com or call 0800 234 567.
How often should I take a break?
We encourage you to allow extra time to reach your destination. Please take a break from driving every 2 hours.
Where can we camp at night?
We strongly recommend you stay at a campground, holiday park or RV/caravan park. RV/caravan parks offer excellent recreational opportunities, plus essential shower and toilet facilities. Powered sites enable you to connect your vehicle to power.
We recommend you download the ApolloConnect app from the App Store or Google Play. ApolloConnect allows you to search and book campgrounds/holiday parks while on the road, as well as access great deals on local attractions.
Do I have to pay to use toll roads?
Apollo will pass on any charges the guest receives for traffic infringements, toll or parking fines during their road trip. For Toll Way fees received, Apollo reserves the right to charge to the guest’s credit or debit card upon receiving the toll way fee, and an administration fee of $75 to cover associated administrative costs per toll way fee received.

There is a $200 pet cleaning fee, (excluding service animals). Our full policy can be viewed on the Apollo website. Service dogs are permitted in all RVs.
Do I have to pay a bond?
Yes. Should you choose standard liability the bond will be debited. If you select one of the liability reduction or Value Pack options, the bond amount will be an imprint. This means that the relevant amount will be “held” from your funds without being debited from your account. The Bond amount can range between $100 and $7,500.
To view the full information regarding bonds payments please review the relevant Terms and Conditions for your vehicle.
Do all drivers need to be present at the branch at pick-up?
All drivers are required to show their driver licence to the branch in person prior to driving the vehicle.
